NOTARY CLIENT INFORMATION
My name is Jeremy Robin Sinclair Bate.
I am a Notary Public regulated through the Faculty Office of the Archbishop of Canterbury of The Faculty Office:
1 The Sanctury, Westminster, London SW1P 3JT
website: www.facultyoffice.org.uk.
My principal function as a Notary is to verify the authenticity of documents for use in Foreign legal jurisdictions. I act as a professional witness for persons who are signing documents for use overseas and I also verify the authenticity of documents such as passports, bank statements, UK degree certificates, etc.
I am not qualified to act as a lawyer in any jurisdiction other than England and Wales. This means that I cannot give advice as to the content of documents intended for use outside England and Wales.
My charges:
My scale of charges per notarisation in respect of persons acting in a personal capacity (not in respect of a company or trust) is set out below.
1. First notarisation, single signatory:£175.00; additional £40.00 for each further signatory (so £215.00 if two persons are signing the same document).
2. Each further notarisation required: an additional £40.00.
3. My handling charge for arranging Foreign Office legalisation (if required - you can do this part of the process yourself and you are not obliged to use a notary for this) is £40.00
If additional legalisation is required by the receiving country’s UK embassy or consulate I usually employ consular agents for this as they visit the embassies in London daily.
Their fees at cost (ie, as charged to me by them) will be payable by you and will be added to my charges above.
In addition to my handling charge for legalisation, the Foreign Office and Embassy/Consulate in question will also charge a fee for legalising each document.
The Foreign Office charge is £45.00 per apostille, plus a return despatch fee of £5.00 return post; Consular fees vary and I will advise you of this in advance.
For notarisation involving companies or trusts a different process of authentication is required and my scale of fees is as follows:
1. First notarisation, single signatory:£275.00; additional £40.00 for each further signatory (so £315.00 if two persons are signing the same document).
2. Each further notarisation required: an additional £40.00.
3. My handling charge for arranging Foreign Office legalisation (if required) is £40.00
As stated above, you can handle the legalisation porocess yourself and save my handling charge: google "Foreign Office Legalisation" for details. Or you can employ consular agents to handle this for you. Ask me if you'd like further details.
Payment is by card at my office or by bank transfer in advance of collection of the notarised documents.
